The shift
The first read on a company now happens inside a chat window. A buyer asks an agent, and the agent reads, weighs, and summarizes the company in a paragraph the company never wrote.

The only decision left is whether it's built. What a company publishes in a form agents can read, agents quote. What a company leaves scattered, agents fill from whatever they found.

What breaks without it
When an agent answers a question about a business wrongly, nobody inside that business knows it happened. The wrong answer isn't a typo with a source. Its source is whatever the open web happened to contain, and the answer travels: into a buyer's first brief, a candidate's decision, the next agent's retrieval.
It doesn't stay outside either. Companies stand up assistants that answer off the open internet, and inside the walls a confident wrong answer outruns the true one, because the true one lives in a Slack thread and a departing person's memory.
